1969 - Honda introduces the CB 750-4. The first big japanese superbike.
1969-1978- millions of cb 750 drivers are having troubles with its original frame. It isn´t precisely built, it feels wobbly and it has a bad factory finish.

In the early seventies, several companies started producing frame kits for Honda´s 750cc four, as

Rickman,

Egli

Nico Bakker,
  Dresda or Bimota.

Among them was former side car racer Colin Seeley, at the time already well known for his racing chassis for Matchless and AJS singles, for Suzuki, Yamaha and Ducati racers.
After a short visit in Formula 1, developing chassis for Brabham, he decided to go back into motorcycle business, developing a chassis for the mostly sold japanese 4-cylinder.
